Born in Colombia and raised with a Russian background, Andrei Amado is a German fashion designer and illustrator. After studying fashion design and art in Berlin and Antwerp, he graduated from the MA course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in March 2011. His MA collection was a series of garments in fur inspired by aerobic sportswear and Olivia Newton John. Prior to his MA, he worked at Marios Schwab and Tim van Steenbergen. He is currently living and working in London.
he collection External body is inspired by the texts of french philosopher Jacques Derrida. The main idea of the collection is the fading of borders between the organic body and its dress. In the past, our choice of dress was a way to express individuality. Now the body in itself has become a form of expression: a text that can be re-written and re-shaped by technologies and performance. In the 90`s the technological cyborg body of machines and computers inspired fashion.
